Hi! I'm Mommy Pom
and this is Pom's Island
When my son was born, I went searching for wooden toys that would truly engage him. Toys that sparked imagination and lasted longer than a week. I couldn’t find what I was looking for, so I decided to make them myself.
With a background in engineering and a lifelong love of craft, I began making toys for him. Friends started asking for their own, and before long, Pom’s Island was born.
From one toy in the living room to a dedicated workshop.
Growing beyond the Garage
What began as a small passion project during Pom’s nap time has grown into a dedicated workshop and a growing creative team.
Today, Pom’s Island operates from its own studio space in Sri Lanka, where each piece is carefully shaped, sanded, and painted by hand.
We’re proud to partner with SriLankan Airlines’ sustainability initiative – giving old materials fresh purpose through sustainable design.
You can also find our toys on the shelves at Urban Island, bringing open-ended play to more families.
Growth has come gently and intentionally. And at every stage, we’ve stayed true to slow craftsmanship and meaningful play.
Our toys now travel from our Sri Lankan workshop to homes across the US, UK, China and beyond.

All our wood is FSC-certified, sourced from responsibly managed forests.
All paints and finishes are non-toxic and kid-safe and each toy is sanded smooth for little hands.
Our paints and sealants are also EN71 compliant because safety is our top priority.
These toys are built to last – the kind you’ll find years from now, still loved.

Why our wooden toys?
There’s something about wooden toys that just works. Kids actually play with them. They build stuff, make up stories, use them in ways you’d never expect. Plus they look nice on a shelf, which is a bonus for those of us who don’t want our homes looking like a toy explosion 24/7.
I’m not going to pretend these toys will make your kid a genius or solve all your parenting challenges. But they will last. They’re safe. They’re made with actual care, not churned out by some factory. And honestly? That matters to me as a parent, so I’m guessing it matters to you too.
